I just found this site after getting a note from Barbara Blackwell. I graduated in 70, went to college in Warrensburg, Settled in Lawrence Kansas, then got married and moved to the Minneapolis MN area. We have 2 girls who we homeschool and we are now college shopping. I have my own business and my clients are mainly advertising agencies. I do retouching and compositing of pictures on computer and some photography. Never believe what you see in an ad!! My picture's on my website. What wonderful memories I have living on Hawthorne Dr. I came to live in Union straight from Dinkelsbuehl, W. Germany. Became a Union Wildcat 2 weeks after arriving in the US. Coach Gildehaus, Mrs. Tavener, Frau Siess, Coach Walker, Ms. LeBeau (and many more, you're all in my memories. My Dad (Frank Parker) worked for Southwestern Bell, and he was promoted and we had to move to St. Louis (Ballwin) half-way through my Sophomore year. I had to leave so many friends behind, and unfortunately, over the years lost contact with almost all of them. Steve Williams (79), Becky Williams (79 or 80), where are you guys? Sue Diekhaus (hope I have that right - Class of 78) I'd love to hear from you. I spent 21 wonderful years with Southwestern Bell. In 1999, I was transferred to Houston, TX, and then in 2002, I was "allowed" to retire early. I ended up moving to San Antonio last year to be closer to my parents. I've been married for almost 22 years, and have 6 wonderful children. All my kids are extra special, we adopted them. Lost our youngest to cancer in 1996. Chris was 6 years old. My oldest is getting ready to graduate from high school in Houston. He will be going to college to be a Police Officer. As of this coming school year, I will have the remaining 4 kids in high school all at the same time. God Bless those poor teachers. Anyhow, I'd love to hear from my friends. Take care! I am daughter to Butch Schulte and Debbie Knight. Grandaughter to Albert and Loraine Schulte. Most people would know the name by our family business, Schulte's Bakery! I was born and raised in this town and remember hating it and couldn't wait to leave. Then of course, grew up, moved away and then realized how much I really did enjoy small town life. I now have a family of my own...married to Tim Rigdon (High Ridge, MO) and we have two boys Curtis 7 and Bradley 5. We recently built a house in Robertsville..so I'm not too far from home. I really miss our family business. I have such great memories as a child. Something my children will not be able to know. There have been so many changes to the town in the last 10 years but my parents still reside here and I always look forward to the trips to the hardware store where my father now works and to the park to let my children play where I once had. Old maps,the names of the first settlers in this area and who opened the first stores ect. I remeber as a small child my brother found an old red book on union. It had the names and buisiness of the begaining of the township. The book has long disappered, sad to say.
